The Concept:
To create pieces of updated jewellery from family heirlooms.
Many of us have inherited jewellery from previous generations, these pieces are often from another time and not what we would wear today, they sit in our jewellery boxes gathering dust and holding memories.
My Heirloom Alchemy work is dedicated to preserving the sentimental value of heirloom pieces while bringing them gently into the present day, so they may live on into future generations as family treasure.
Over the years I have transformed many heirlooms, gold wedding rings have become elegant earrings, stones have been reset into modern clasps, pearls & beads restrung, lockets repurposed, silver hairbrushes and salt pots reimagined, it is an ever unfolding list that brings so much joy and inspiration to both me and the client.
The Process:
Consultation: this can be done on line or in person, in which we will discuss your ideas and vision for your piece of jewellery.
Design & Costing – Sophie designs the piece and sends details with full cost options to choose from.
Confirmation & Involvement – You confirm your chosen design and decide whether you want to be involved in the making process.
Making & Presentation – The creation of the piece begins, and it will be presented to you upon completion.
