If you have made it to this page you will be aware that I am creating journeys with individuals to celebrate and honour these precious, precarious and big lives we lead.
Through the medium of silver, the courage of the heart and the inspiration that only Nature can best offer us, let’s explore the thresholds we have stepped over.

Studio design and making
Together we will weave stories into Silver, with shape and form to hold the journey as its been trodden during years of a life well lived.
To wear a piece made with your own hands, to have felt the metal in its raw state, to learn the feel of the torch’s heat as it softens the silver.
You have made this for yourself, to remember and honour those sacred moments, those shining thresholds you’ve stepped over.

‘I bought some of Sophie’s beautiful jewellery earlier this year and signed up for her newsletter.
I noticed she put out a call to work with 3 women around transitions in their life to help them design and make a piece of jewellery to mark something. I was intrigued and volunteered.
It’s been a magical process from our initial meeting where we walked and talked about what I wanted to pulling together a design.
The last part which was the making was my absolute favourite. I love my piece and it has a lot of meaning for me.

‘When I was introduced to the idea of a Transition piece of jewellery, I had to think carefully about what this meant. The transition I was going through was a difficult one and I appreciated Sophie’s keen listening skills and empathetic nature.
To help me focus we used Druid animal cards, which I found a fascinating exercise and illustrated several of my characteristics and attitudes.
I decided I needed a piece of jewellery which would symbolise protection and decided upon a brooch which would incorporate a gatepost, oak leaf and wrens feather, these items would represent, threshold and boundaries, strength and endurance as well as protection.
Together we discussed its shape and form, the materials to be used and use of semi-precious stones to add a deeper layer of meaning. Together with a good friend, we met at Sophie’s studio and had a joyful day, making marks in silver and soldering copper wire.
It was a wonderful day, full of new experiences and laughter. Sophie was an excellent guide throughout this journey. I am overwhelmed with the finished pieces and can only thank Sophie from the bottom of my heart for this transformative experience.’
